    Dottie,

Im not thinking about how i missed your reading at Open Books in SEattle. To think is to be sad.

I will neither admit jealousy that a certain girl “Rahel” went when i did not, for to admit jealousy is to let her win.

I’m trying to figure something out. Rahel told me “she cringed when i told her you wanted us to be called romantic giraffe”.

    is it true?
is rahel messing with me? she’s mean to me. she declines giving me hugs when I need it. she doesn’t give me high-fives.

I named it on a whim Dottie!
And i’m keeping it because rahel hates it.
    I’m doing it for spite!
    spite.
    spite.
    isn’t that the best reason?

    I’m bored with myself,
    sincerely,
Thanks for signing my book (your book?),

Thanks for the great reading the other night! I had the opportunity to use my new phone’s video recorder and take a pretty decent recording of the event. I posted it all to my blog, and you can view it via the link below. Feel free to share any of it with anybody!

    Cheers,

    Greg Bem

    Hi Thad,
Wow, I honestly don’t remember the giraffe part. Was I the cringing one? I can’t believe it.
Sorry we missed each other! What a nice friend you have though, always thinking of you and what you might like to get as a present.
Spite is ok, I guess, but it does eat away at you. Spite becomes less important over time. It never grows in a healthy way. I think you should forget the spite and tell Rahel how nice she is. Being a giraffe is ok. In fact, it is more than ok.
Thanks for wanting your book signed,
    Dottie

    Hi Greg,
Thanks so much for recording the reading and writing it up!
I put the link on this site above.
I hope to see you again soon. Wish we had gotten a chance to talk more at the reading.
    Dottie
